Healthy Eating

Working on a number of projects with groups such as Parenting 2000, Woodvale & Ainsdale Community Association and Butterflies Children's Centre, we have come up with exciting new projects and new ways of ensuring local residents achieve their 5 a day fruit and vegetable consumption targets.

Fruit & Vegetable Co-operatives

Working in recognised areas of deprivation, we have set up 3 local fruit and vegetable co-operatives. The schemes allow easy access to fruit and vegetables and customers can buy large bags of produce for £2.50, a large saving over supermarkets and traditional retailers. We also sell free range eggs at £1.25 for 6 and can tailor orders to customers requirements.

These are based at:

Crossens Community Centre, Rufford Road, 12-3.30pm every Wednesday

Southport Centre for Health and Wellbeing on Hoghton Street, 11-2pm every Thursday

Ainsdale Centre for Health and Wellbeing on Sandbrook Road, 12-3.30pm every Friday

We also take orders at Butterflies, Freshfield, Linaker and Parenting 2000 Children's Centres as well as Redgate Primary School in Formby. Please see your receptionist for details.

We are looking for volunteers to help run these schemes, if you are interested please contact  Sarah Lloyd on 01704 501024 x 243 for further information.

Why not have your produce delivered to your home or workplace for just 25p extra per bag or

£1 for four or more bags, perfect for your group or organisation!!
